The themes explored in the workshops formed the basis of a scripted production, which was presented from October 2011 in a number of venues, including The Basement and the Pavilion Theatre. Interactive soundscapes and video montages of hair stories are presented as moments in a darkly comic allusion to the game of snakes and ladders.

Snakes & Ladders is an exciting project undertaken by Plenty Productions in collaboration with Rolemop Arts. Written by Sarah Naomi Lee and directed by Kerri McLean, the multimedia production has been developed in a series of workshops involving Brighton-based artists. The workshops draw on material collected in the Positive Hair Day project to explore a number of themes, such as memory, personality, cultural background and heritage journey.
